Microsoft Teams Rooms vs BYOD: Which Is Better for a Brisbane Boardroom?
Dedicated rooms and bring-your-own-device rooms solve different problems. Here's how to choose.

Two different philosophies
A Teams Room is a dedicated computer in the room, licensed and signed in, ready to join scheduled meetings with one tap. A BYOD room provides great cameras, mics and speakers but relies on the presenter's laptop to run the meeting.
When a dedicated room wins
If most meetings are internal and on Teams, a dedicated room delivers the most consistent experience: calendar on the console, no cables, and IT can manage devices centrally.
When BYOD wins
If your boardroom hosts clients, partners and suppliers who bring Zoom, Webex or Meet invitations, BYOD flexibility matters. Many boardrooms now combine both: a dedicated system plus a BYOD input.
Our advice
Start with how the room is actually used over a typical month. That answer usually makes the choice obvious.
